Write My Essay For MeHS499: Bachelors Capstone in Health Science
CLASSMATE POST #1
When making an effective PowerPoint presentation, there are always a few things I take into consideration. The main being, to know what who my target audience would be. Keeping the language appropriate to who you’re trying to inform is important. It doesn’t do anyone a lot of good to speak in terms that most of the audience wouldn’t understand the topic. Selecting a topic that is relevant to my audience is also something I try to do when I begin to put together a PP. Next, I create the outline. This helps me to keep slides short and relevant, as well as keeping the information organized. After I have put together the information in an easy-to-digest way, I practice reading through the material. Sometimes things look like they would sound good, but when you read them aloud, the way the sentence materializes is “off”. I go back through and correct any problems with the speech or sentence structure and double-check to make sure the slides aren’t too “busy” as well. Having too much information or several pictures/animations can often cause your audience to lose interest in what you’re saying. Following these steps and including these different elements has always been helpful to me when creating an effective PowerPoint.

There
are many ways to prepare for a presentation when giving one. It depends
on the setting as to how I might prepare but they are not extremely
different. The first thing I would do is write a presentation on how I
would present or give the presentation. After I have completed the
presentation I would then do my best to memorize it or at least the
vital information in it and attempt to anticipate any questions that
might arise. After having worked more on learning the information I
would then make a PowerPoint presentation that had key points that would
trigger in my mind the things that would be important and help the
presentation. One important part of a good PowerPoint is to give all the
information but not have your entire presentation on it so you do not
end up just reading from the slides. I would then create a handout based
on the PowerPoint and review/practice the presentation while going
through the slides so I was comfortable with the information and when to
change the slide. I think one of the most important parts of a
presentation is a hook in the beginning. Everyone always goes into a
presentation or discussion with things on their mind so you have to
captivate your audience the most effective way to do this is with a
subject appropriate joke. Laughter will help everyone relax and pay
attention. Including yourself.

It is surprising to find that Phentermine-topiramate is approved by the
FDA for weight loss because of the possible side effects that may arise
while taking it. My mother got a horrible case or dry mouth when she
found out she had diabetes and she was miserable. Literally in tears. I
know that may sound silly but there was literally no saliva in her mouth
and she could not get enough to drink. Another symptom is the
constipation because most people who do not eat properly already have
issues with this. (Medicine) The last that looked a little sketchy to me
was dizziness. So, I guess this medication is for people who never need
to drive? I think this one needs another case study before it is
released. But too late for that because it is on the market. The uses
for this prescription may be worth it, however. The description explains
that it is extended release so it will last longer and causes the
patient to feel full and keeps them from re-gaining weight they lose. It
is for people who are not only overweight or obese, but those with
related health conditions as well. It is nice that there is a medication
made for people like this who need help. It also requires that a
well-balanced, low calorie diet be followed along with the regimen,
promoting healthy changes in eating habits.

With
9 FDA approved weight loss drugs in circulation there are multiple pros
and cons that come along with the drugs. The pros are pretty
straightforward, weight loss, the sensation of feeling full longer, less
hungry, the body has a harder time absorbing fat from fatty foods. With
these pros come cons; as far as the body not absorbing fat from fatty
foods, where does the fat go? Diarrhea is a common side effect while
taking these medications if you eat fatty foods. Other side effects
include; increased heart rate, migraines, vomiting, seizures, and so
much more. The biggest con I see to taking these medications is the
cost. The cost of these medications can run the patient up to
$500/month. That comes out to $6,000 per year. This is more expensive
than a personal trainer for a year, and meal prep. Seems that
prescription medications are very expensive and come with some scary
side effects, which does not seem worth it to me. If I had an extra
$6,000 a year I would use it for gym membership and meals that are pre
prepped for me.
