Background

Business Consulting Proposal Alternative Choice Home Care Nursing (ACHCN) has been in business since 2009, starting off as a small agency with a few patients.

In 2013, with the help of a Veteran’s Administration (VA) contract, ACHCN became providers for over 60 skilled (nursing, physical therapy, and occupational therapy services) and unskilled (homemaker, personal care providers, and certified nurse aids) patients and 60 employees overnight.

Almost two years later to the date, ACHCN became Medicare/Medicaid certified. In the earlier days, it was almost impossible to keep up with how quickly the organization was growing. They quickly learned the error in their judgment by all of the complaints they received. It wasn’t until late 2014; things began to turn around.

ACHCN has had steady growth and patient satisfaction since 2014. However, over the past several years they have seen a decrease in available qualified employees to provide unskilled services, as well as, a reduction in authorization of said services through the VA.

With the VA as their primary clientele base, the recent cutbacks from VA on unskilled services, means ACHCN must look to the future of the agency. Additional payor sources could increase the amount of patients with unskilled services, however, they are still faced with the shor………………
