Paper Assignment #1: Write a one to two page essay systematically analyzing components of Mise-en-scene in one of the following movies: It Happened One Night (1934) and Rebecca (1940). In this reflective analysis paper, I would like for you to address the concrete components of mise-en-scene and discuss possible implications or symbolic meanings embedded in the display of settings, representations of the characters, costumes, lighting, and composition within a scene or two in the film.
