Assess Leadership Style of Self and Leader
Being a leader requires a lot of experience in handling human problems as well as issues that come as a result of one’s decisions. My leadership skills and my natural goals are more likely aligned, and I make decisions which are in accordance with the way I feel about a situation rather than what is expected. I think more about the effects of my choices and how they assist or destroy the work done by others around me. As a leader, I have always put my colleagues first and made them feel the need to come to me in case of an issue. A leader’s role is to guide and not dictate every single step. I provide ideas but let others chose the steps and procedures that most suit the so long as the outcome is appealing and helpful. This is because restricting people to a series of steps undermines their abilities and does not give them a chance to explore their capabilities.
