Psychological assessment involves systematic evaluation of someone’s behavior. The different variables used in such an assessment are the variables used for measurement and they include: beliefs, social behavior or the methods employed in measurements like the use of interviews or observation. The data obtained from an assessment can be qualitative or quantitative and hence can be used to make inferences. Psychologists make clinical judgements based on this assessments and hence advice whether treatment is needed or even hospitalization at times.
